Israel's Dispersion |
"The Dispersion" is a term used by the church to label the time when the responsiblities/privileges of handling the Word of God would be wrest from the Hebrews and given to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 49:22
Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
cf.
Matthew 12:18
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
The time of The Dispersion began with the birth of the New Testament/Grace Age Church (at Pentecost)and it will end when the Church is taken up (Raptured) to be with the Lord. Like the word "Rapture," the term "The Dispersion" is not in the KJV of the Bible; nevertheless, both words have been accepted by the church because they do no harm to the original meaning and because they enhance the understanding of the Church.
