M.C. WROTE: I was wondering if you had the
references for the seven revelations of God to Abraham in Genesis?
DON WROTE:
Apparently you are referring to the CHART OF THE AGES linked to our home
page. If so, here are some Scriptural references for the
seven revelations/promises to Abraham in the Abrahamic covenant.
1) Promise to make of Abraham a great nation:
a) Abraham in the natural/earthly realm-
Gen. 13:
14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him,
Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art
northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy
seed for ever.
16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man
can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth
of it; for I will give it unto thee.
cf.
John 8:37-40
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek
to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which
ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus
saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye
would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which
I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
b) Abraham in the spiritual realm-
Romans 4:
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was
counted unto him for righteousness.
...
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the
circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our
father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to
Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness
of faith.
…
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end
the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of
the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the
father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before
him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth
those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of
many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Gal. 3:
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles
among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the
children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen
through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee
shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for
it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things
which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is
evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
cf.
Hab. 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith.
c. Promise to Abraham also fulfilled through Ishmael’s seed-Gen.
17:18-20
Genesis 17:
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to
Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be
thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply
thee exceedingly.
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a
father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be
Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of
thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed
after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God
unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land
wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting
possession; and I will be their God.
…
15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not
call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will
bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall
be of her.
17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart,
Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall
Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
[As so many of us have done, because God tarried in fulfilling His
promise of a son to Abraham, Sarah tried to hurry things up. She talked
Abraham into having a child, Ishmael,
by her handmaiden. Although Abraham experienced a temporary lapse in his
faith, after the visitation in these next Scriptures, he was strong in
faith, giving glory to God.]
…
19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and
thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with
him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him,
and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve
princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear
unto thee at this set time in the next year.
2) Abraham's blessing in Canaan-
a) Abraham's "present-day" promise-
Gen.
Gen. 15:
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and
tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So
shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for
righteousness.
7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the
Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8 And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she
goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove,
and a young pigeon.
10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and
laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them
away.
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and,
lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a
stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they
shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and
afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a
good old age.
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the
iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark,
behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those
pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy
seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great
river, the river Euphrates:
19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the
Jebusites.
b) Abraham's promise in the "hereafter"-
John 8:
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou
art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I
honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall
never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a
devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep
my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the
prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour
is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he
is your God:
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I
know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep
his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my
day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old,
and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
3) Promise to make his name great
-We don’t need a Scripture to understand that He has done that for
Abraham.
4) Promise to make him a blessing to the world
Gal. 3:
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse
for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus
Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's
covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth
thereto.
17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God
in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after,
cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but
God gave it to Abraham by promise.
5)Promise to curse those who curse him
6) bless those who bless him
Gen. 12:3
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
History has seen 5 & 6 fulfilled/being fulfilled, and there’s more
promised for the future.
7) Promise that God will do all this in his "seed"-Of course, his seed is
Christ.
Gal. 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to
seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
I hope this is what you wanted. Thanks for WRAPPING with us.

KEVIN WROTE:
hello, my name is kevin and i have a question to ask. Can you send me some information that will help me understand Revelations. Especially the 7
seals and rapture.
thanks, this is for a girl that goes to my high school and she is
confused.
thanks for listening Kevin
DON
WROTE:
Hello Kevin:
I’m guessing that you and your friend are still fairly new to the wealth
of the Scriptures. So, let me suggest that you show her John 14:1-3.
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in
me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Then you might explain to her that His return for His Church is sure and
imminent, for He created us and died on the cross for us so that we could be
with Him forever. But first, there are so many exciting things to learn that
are needful for this life, like how He cares for us and how He has made
provisions for us to meet our day-to-day needs.
David prayed to the Lord, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I
might not sin against thee" (Psalm 119:11); and like most believers, I
found it very helpful in my early walk with the Lord to memorize some
Scriptures. The following are some of my favorite verses.
John 10:
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and
they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is
able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor
forsake thee.
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
Luke 12:
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two
farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not
therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall
the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
I Cor. 6:
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God's.
Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:
how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them
that ask him?
Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how
shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
These next verses I put into my spiritual arsenal to have in time of
testing and temptation.
I Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye
may be able to bear it.
I John 1:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is
not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
As you study the Word, you will find your own favorite Scriptures that
you’ll want to commit to memory.
I know that today’s events in the news have all of Christendom thinking
about the end times and wondering if this is the beginning of the end of our
age. It could be, or could be just a flash fire that will burn itself
out—only God knows. But what we do know is that with the dawn of each
new morning, each of us is given a day that must be filled with decisions.
Will those decisions be turned in on ourselves, which is self-defeating, or
will they reach out to help others have a better day, the way that God can
bless? Will they be filled with faith and awe towards the God who made us,
or will they be filled with doubt and depression? I’m writing this assuming
that your friend is a born-again believer. But for anyone reading this who
does not comprehend what is involved in being a born-again believer, this day
is the day of choice for you to (once again?) reject the love of God that
took His Son to the Cross, or to receive by faith His gifts of eternal life
for the ages to come and the more abundant life that belongs to the
believers of this age.
John 10:
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in,
he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the
sheep.
There is a sobering reality that each of us have to deal with: i.e.,
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment"
(Hebrews 9:27). Just as no one knows the day or hour that Jesus will return
for His Church, neither does any of us know the day or hour that God has
appointed for us to die. In fact, for many around the world today, this will
be the last day they will have to make decisions. Again, none of us know if
today is our final day. This should make us to pause and consider, "Am I
ready to go out into eternity?" If you are or if you aren’t depends upon
what you do with the following Words of Jesus.
John 3:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
As to your questions concerning the seven seals of Revelation and the
Rapture of the Church, we deal with those quite extensively in our Study of
Revelation and THE CLOCK OF THE AGES. But for those that read this WRAP who
are not yet proficient with the Scriptures, perhaps there is more profit in
concentrating on the 7 days we are given in each week and the Scriptures
that help us to fill them profitably.
Thanks for WRAPPING with us,
Don

JACK WROTE: Terror In The Land Of The Living
The tragic events of September 11. 2001 in New York and Washington
stir within me the same emotions felt by all. I know the God of Abraham
is not pleased with the horrors caused by Satan's religious hatreds.
However, if we are born again Christians, we must filter all human
events through the Word of God. Especially when we know that all
religious-political events among nations, like this terrorist attack on
America, are leading to one final world climax. Thus, the climactic
question is: Will the people of Earth believe the rising Antichrist from
America and Europe and his promise of peace for Jerusalem; or the
returning Jesus Christ, to take over the government of the nations?
Please visit my web site for details.
Today's terrorism and its geographical and political source is
clearly outlined in the Bible. Please read Ezekiel 32:11-32, which
describes world events to take place in the last days. Seven times in
these verses the word "terror" is used to explain conditions in and
around Israel in the last days before Jesus returns in power and glory.
Four times the phrase "who caused their terror in the land of the
living" is used. The Bible provides the names of the nations involved
one way or another:
Asshur=Syria
Elam=Iran and Iraq
Meshach, Tubal=Russia
Edom=Jordan
Sidonians=Lebanon
Egypt=Egypt
Babylon=America
Notice closely in Ezekiel 32:32 that God personally will bring terror
to the terrorists of the world. This will be fulfilled during the seven
years of Daniel's 70th Week, when God's angels will pour out the wrath
of God on all, I say again, all nations.
One final note needs to be aired in Christendom, whose patriotic
urges and desires call out for revenge. If we believe in Jesus and His
words, especially His call to love all people and love His return; then
we must finally realize that all governmental systems, including
America, are the world system controlled by Satan. We believers are to
obey its human leaders, who are blind to Satan's control over them. We
are also to pray for them, love them, pay tax to them, and honor the
good they do. But, we can't take up arms for them. We must live and
exhibit the "cross" to all of them. We must obey Jesus and not men.
God has ordained the higher governmental powers. He uses them, in
spite of Satan's control, to prevent anarchy. But that doesn't mean He
approves of what they do. We know that human self government is allowed
by God because of man's rebellion to the rule of God in Jesus Christ.
The age of rebellion is about to end. Jesus is coming soon to rule with
a rod a iron. Are you ready?
Sincerely, Jack D. Hook
Babylon The Great Is Falling
B'ANN WROTE:
You mention that we are not to "take up arms for them" in reference
to any government. The nice thing about Jesus is that he never "painted
us into a corner" when it came to human government.
The Human Government that we in America live under is not the same as
the Theocracy/Spiritual Government that God wanted upon the earth. If we
believe He created all of the worlds without end, as well as mankind;
then, it would stand to reason that He would know the best kind of
government for His creation. However, we find that "mere created humans"
had the audacity to tell God that they knew best and we find that just
before the writing of Kings, the Children of Israel began to "murmur"
and want a king like the other people that had long since rejected God.
They got themselves an earthly king and an earthly government and told
God to "go take a hike." Then we find the Children of Israel "taking a
forty-year ‘hike’ in the wilderness".
With this brief history, let me address the matter of "not taking up
arms." Jesus did say,
Luke 22:35-38
And he said unto them, When I sent you without
purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said,
Nothing.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take
[it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him
sell his garment, and buy one.
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished
in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things
concerning me have an end.
And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said unto
them, It is enough.
If we wanted to look at this as a ratio of people having weapons, it
was 2:12 excluding Jesus. He said this was enough. So it would appear
that in order to protect all people in a nation or on earth, whether it
is apostles, Christian, or unbelievers, the ratio of weapon bearers
would have to be 2:12. or 1:6. This would be 16 2/3% of the population
engaged in some type of security occupation. Now, when they were in
"peace time" as noted in Luke 22:25, Jesus told them not to carry a
weapon. However, they were no longer in "peace time" for Christ was
about to be put to death on the cross.
I don’t know how much of our national budget is for national and
civil protection, but from looking at the Scripture above, it should be
about 17%. This could include about 17% on local, state, national and
world level. We certainly cannot contend that the world scene is one of
"peace." Our national military budget for 1996 was $376,300,000. The
total number of personnel in the armed forces was 1,370,237. Our
population in 2000 was 281,421,906. So if we round the numbers we find
that our ratio is 1:300. If we add the entire local, state and oceanic
personnel in law enforcement, the amount would go higher. But is it
enough!?!?!
He also told them to take script/money with them when they went about
their daily lives. Jesus knew full well that they/we would have to
operate in the world system because a Theocratical government like
Israel had known, would never be established on earth again. Also, Jesus
taught that the government He had come to establish at the time would
not be of the earth, but would be based in heaven, and its citizens
would be born-again Christians purchased by the shedding of His blood.
He talked about how a person could become a citizen of this Grace-Age,
"kingdom of heaven" in a "mystery," this kingdom that He would build
when He went back to the right hand of the Father. For the duration of
our age (the Grace Age), the only way a person can become a "citizen" of
this new "heavenly" government is by observing these verses.
John 10:
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some
other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he
calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and
the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for
they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what
things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I
am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the
sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and
shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might
have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the
sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the
sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and
fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not
for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay
down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I
must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one
fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life,
that I might take it again.
John 3:
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot
enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born
of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound
thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:
so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel,
and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and
testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall
ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from
heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so
must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were
evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to
the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may
be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
I’ve been going through this discourse on governments because we need
to rightly divide the Word of Truth. During the Kingdom Age to come,
Christ will rule with a rod of iron and there will be no wars for
man to fight for there will be no need for a man to defend himself, his
family, or his nation. But for now, we are under human government and
humans are given the responsibility for taking care of God’s earth and
one another. I know that our Lord wants us to love our enemies and to do
good to them who despitefully use us, but like all things in the
Scriptures, this should be taken in its context. This is speaking of
personal confrontations and not murderous attacks on our family or our
neighbors. I can find no Scripture to support the pacifist who refuses
to fight against the Hitler’s and the terrorists of this world.
Also, I have noticed that those who refuse to defend their country in
the name of some religion have no qualms about keeping their families
and their own "precious" hide in the safety of the freedom that was
purchased by the blood of those who have "loved to the utmost."
In a previous WRAP we let you know that we feel you to be erroneous,
irresponsible, and hateful in accusing America of being wicked Babylon
the Great and her leader(?s) being the infamous "beast" of prophecy.
Here, I would like to make another point. We hear religious leaders (so
called) who slur President Bush because he is reaching out to peoples of
all faiths and religions in America, calling upon them to be united in
their support of our great land. Apparently, they feel him to be in
error because he is not supporting their particular Biblical beliefs nor
preaching their understanding of Jesus. I would like to remind those
with this view that our forefathers did not establish this nation to be
"one nation under Jesus," but "one nation under God." They had just fled
Europe for their lives because gerrymandering, bigoted people had taken
control of the government and were imprisoning, torturing, and killing
people that would not believe as they did. This is not to say that our
founding fathers did not pray in the name of Jesus and worship Him as
the Son of God—for many of them did. It is saying that they wanted a
nation wherein anyone could worship as they please without fear and
where they were free to share their faith with others as long as they
did not take away the rights of others in the process. I don’t know if
President Bush starts his day praying to God in the name of Jesus or
not—but that is none of my business. I do know that He respects and
defends my right to do so; and I feel that his stance is in agreement
with the intent of our forefathers who established this "one nation
under God." And for what it is worth, I also feel that God is pleased
with his approach.
I won’t comment on some of your other comments because I frankly have
no idea where they came from; but isn’t it great that we live in a
nation wherein we can both air our views and disagree without wanting to
kill one another in the name of God?
