B'Ann and I were recently driving to the grocery store when we passed three beautiful church buildings within a half of a mile–buildings we had passed many times before–only this time they really became significant to me.  I made mention of the churches to B'Ann to which she replied: "There's something wrong with this picture.  We have churches like this all over America, yet America is racing to become like Sodom and Gomorrha!"  I guess she made this comment because of what we had seen in just the last couple of days. First, our favorite family game show, The Wheel of Fortune, had just aired a program that surprised us.  At the beginning of the show, the contestants are interviewed and they  introduce and brag on their families.  In this particular program, a man said he was married to a wonderful man..  In addition, in that morning's news we had just seen where Archie Comics, a long-time popular comic with children, had just introduced its first homosexual teen.

These two examples, among many, lead us to believe that we are of a nation fast becoming like Sodom and Gomorrah!  Add to these incidents the fact that our politicians are promoting this life style, many churches are fast embracing it, most news medias are promoting it, our educational institutions are accepting it, and our present culture makes it politically incorrect to say anything against it–and then you see a Word of prophecy from the Bible coming to pass!  I will not put my words into this writing; for in this instance, my words would have no power. But DoWeKnow that the Biblical account of Genesis 19:24 is not true? that it is not an actual account of a judgment from God?? What if it is actually true???

Jude 1:7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

II Peter 2:
⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
⁷ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
⁸ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Luke 17:
²⁸ Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
²⁹ But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
³⁰ Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Actually, in this resurgence of sodomy, you see not just one, but two prophetic words being fulfilled: i.e., as it was in the days of Lot and the time of false teachers.  Think about it!  If all of the many differing churches in America were teaching the all powerful Word of God, then Light and Righteousness would prevail and the works of unrighteousness could not come boldly to the fore. It might be noted that the "cry went up" from Sodom and Gomorrha from a soul that was not at peace with what was happening in the city.  We have so many churches here in the U.S., and world-wide, that if they were to cry out to God there would be some type of answer. We are not to contend and rail against this type of lifestyle. If the Biblical account in Genesis 19:24 taught anything concerning this matter, it was that the efforts of man are futile against such a strong craving! Church, we need to enter our closets and pray!  We need to utter the same cry that came up from these two cities; for according to the Scriptures, God is the only one that can deal with this type of social situation. If God deals with it, then we will not be hating and judging our neighbor. We cannot judge this!!! We can only reject or accept this lifestyle and then "cry out to God" and He, alone, can deal with it.  Sorry to those that like to make banners and chant on the streets–God seems to have reserved this type of "social state of affairs" for His own type of ruling/decree.  We can only CRY! CRY! CRY!!!"  If we cry amiss, then we have wasted only some tears.  If we cry out in wisdom and authority, God will answer from heaven.  How will He answer?  We don't know!  That is His business!!! We need to mind our own business, which is prayer; and let God mind His own business which is to take care of the universe. BUT it all must be activated through prayer!  This is the on/off switch that God hears.  Off is silence. On is a cry for help.

I Tim. 6:
³ If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

II Tim. 4:
¹ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
² Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

II Peter 2:

Think on it saints!  If we add to these two signs the signs already being fulfilled: i.e., the whole earth being filled with violence, the wickedness on every hand, the great pestilences, the starvation of many (due primarily to droughts in nature and the wickedness of evil rulers), the extreme weather patterns, the earthquakes in divers places–then we can understand why the world is looking on with apprehension–BUT FOR THE BELIEVER, IT IS TIME TO LOOK UP FOR OUR REDEMPTION "DRAWETH NIGH!" MORE IMPORTANTLY!!! IT IS TIME TO SATURATE THE WORLD WITH THE GOOD NEWS!!!
