BARON
FRANKENSTEIN WROTE: quick question. Exactly which version of the bible are you using as the literal truth? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DON WROTE:I don't know if Baron Frankenstein is your real name or not, but I will take time to answer your WRAP for you have hit upon an important topic. Let me begin my answer by addressing how the King James Version came to be. The following excerpt is taken from booklet three, chapter seven of our on-line book THE CLOCK OF THE AGES. (You can find the book by clicking on the CLOCK OF THE AGES button on our home page.)
Let me finish up my part of this WRAP with a word of testimony. Not only has the King James Version withstood the test of time and made an impact upon the world as has no other version of the Bible, but it is my spiritual Mother. I know that there is enough of the Gospel (good news) of the salvation of God in Christ Jesus in most Bibles to save anyone who believes, but it was under the preaching of the King James Version that I was convicted and gloriously converted. Because of my born-again experience, I can readily "amen" the following Scripture.
There are other verses of Scripture that comes to bear on this issue.
So, not only have I been born again by the Holy Spirit, but He also leads me in my daily walk, as much as I will allow. And He impresses upon me the importance of using the King James Version as my mainstay. I feel that this is not only because of its authenticity, but because to successfully use a concordancewhich is an important tool for Bible studyit is necessary to have the words of only one version of the Bible in my heart. And again, I feel that the KING JAMES VERSION of the Bible is the one that the Lord would have me use. If none of this makes any sense to you, and if you have no idea what the Bible is talking about when it says you must be born again, let me suggest that you go to the third chapter of John and not leave its Words until you have peace with God and yourself. You will find that most versions of the Bible have left this portion of the Bible intact so that God can honor them. And you can also know that He will honor them for He has promised that "The LORD [is] nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth" (Ps. 145:18); and that "...whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom 10:13). |

G______ Wrote: If you are interested in end time prophecy such as: Armageddon, Rebuilt Temple, Antichrist, The Great tribulation,, Mark of the Beast, you may like to read a controversial book 'Millennium Fever' by Shmuel Golding which has caused a stir from Jerusalem to the Bible Belt. The book contains a rational chapter by chapter commentary on the Book of Revelation. http://www.jibp.israel.net/ý Don Wrote: Hello, Thanks for taking time to WRAP with us. (I don’t understand your use of "ý." If it has a significance, you will have to let me know. For our visitors, to find the site mentioned in this WRAP, you will have to use the address without the ý.) (A note to our cyber visitors: I was just recently reviewing our WRAPs and noticed that Shmuel's web site is no longer on the Web.) As I read your WRAP, another Jew of another day came to mind. We read of him in the 9th chapter of Acts.
This is the account of how Saul, a devout Jew who later became the Apostle Paul that wrote a great part of the New Testament, was called of God to help build the Lord's Church as per His promise to Abraham and the Old Testament saints. It comes from Acts 9:1-22 of the Worldwide English version of the Bible. I see from your web site that you feel it is your responsibility to oppose your Messiah and try to stamp out the influence of His Church. I perceive this from your web site which says:
I find it unfortunate that you mention the New Testament believers in the same breath with those who practice "anti-Semitism." The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is and has always been the truest friend that the Jews have had throughout the 2,000 years of their dispersion. (Even the horrible time of your holocaust bears this out.) Oh, I understand where you are coming from. Like Paul, you feel that you must stop the influence of the teachings of the followers of Christ; but like Paul, you have not put that which you have been taught to the test of truth. Let me remind you of the admonitions of Moses and your prophet Jeremiah.
Fortunately for the Apostle Paul, although he wasn't seeking God with all his heart, he was opposing the Church that his Messiah was building, thinking that he was serving God. Consequently, in mercy, God showed him the truththat in reality, he was opposing the very One he wanted to serve. My prayer is that this is also your heart and that God will also show you truth. Let me finish my response to your WRAP by quoting from the history of the New Testament Church.

"gays4jesus"
Wrote: hi there sound like yo could use some help on some Bible facts B'Ann Wrote:Yes, I agree that we need some help. As I read the Bible, I do find that I cannot help you. If the writings about Sodom and Gomorrah are true, as propertied by the Bible, then I have to look at this Biblical writing and accept what it clearly outlines. The noise of Sodom came up to heaven, not a cry from any Christians. Evidently, nature was in such a discordant state that its awful, unnatural rhythm began to beat against God's ears and He sent the angels down to check out what was going on at this place called Sodom. The Scriptures do declare:
We find in the writings in the Scriptures that the men of the city wanted to "know" (the word translated "know" has sexual connotations) the angels which evidently looked male. The men of the city refused the virgin daughters that were offered to appease them. The account goes on to say that the angels blinded them but they continued to try to tear down the door and get to the angels. A mighty strong sex drive!
The angels of God could not change their minds, God could not change their minds, and I cannot. Perhaps I can't for the same reason that Abraham could not, nor Lot could not.
I look around at the people I meet and I do not want them condemned or trampled as subhuman or perverted. I believe that within each person is something very great, a special gift, that most people never find for it takes the diligence of a miner panning for gold to attain it. I can see sacrificing a possibly brilliant future and using a sexual relationship to bear children. However, I cannot imagine sacrificing a future for just raw sex between men-men or women-women. You might say, "What do you mean sacrificing a future?" Check the statistics of surviving a homosexual relationship. It's almost like playing Russian Roulette. Women have died of childbirth in the past but never like the death rate from modern, promiscuous sexual encounters. So, I say all that to say this. If I am wrong, I will certainly ask God to show me the correct way. If you are wrong, it is possible that you will may never see the need to repent if what the Scriptures say are true. What if you are wrong? What if the Holy Bible does not condone and uphold your way of life? I am reminded of the disciples at the Last Supper when Jesus said that someone at the table would betray him. One by one they began to say, "Is it I, Lord?" It went around the table with each one searching their own heart, not the hearts of the one sitting on the left or the right. This is the starting point if we are truly Christians; i.e., "Is it I Lord?" Can you say, "Is it I Lord?" I absolutely promise you that I will ask, "Is it I, Lord?" However, it is difficult to embrace another interpretation of the Scriptures after being taught about perversion as a child. I also have to look at the fruit of what I was taught as a child. The teaching of one man and one woman marriage, with fidelity, would limit significantly the cases of syphilis, gonorrhea, numerous other sexually transmitted diseases, illegitimate babies, broken hearts, broken homes, huge medical expenses . I challenge you to write about the benefits of your sexual preferences. It would seem to me, that nature itself is beginning to turn on society in the form of new sexually transmitted diseases of which AIDS will be just a start. Whoops! I'm sounding judgmental again. No, I'm not! I am just stating facts that are evident everyday in the news media. Yes, we need help because if I read the Scriptures correctly, only God, Himself, can deal with the spirit of homosexuality/Sodomy. We mere humans can't seem to even cry out to God about it. The unnatural rhythm of nature will have to do the crying. God seems to have reserved this "keg of worms" for Himself.
There is a natural rhythm to all of creation. The rivers murmur as they flow to the ocean, the oceans have such a pleasant sound, the winds move and blends with nature, growth has its own pattern to follow, there are sound of love as strong as the Song of Solomon and the cooing a mother makes to a new baby. When something occurs that goes against the normal flow of nature, the murmuring sound ceases, and the earth experiences the awful sounds of catastrophe whether it is natural or manmade. If the Scriptures are true, whatever occurred in Sodom was a discordant sound of nature and God could not abide its in his ears. Think upon these things. Don Wrote:When I first began studying the Bible I came across this passage of Scripture.
As a babe-in-Christ, these words struck fear in my heartfear for those who have such a judgment put upon them and a reverent fear of God. I had just been converted from a life of sin and had experienced a powerful conversion; and now I was reading that God would use that same power to blind people and to give them up to a reprobate mind! Because I had just be born again, I was full of zeal for my friends and family and I wanted everyone I met to be "saved." But now I was reading that there were some who were exempt from the grace of God. This bothered me and I gave myself to prayer and Bible study about the matter. I had already read where Christ was the Lamb of God Who took away the sin of the world when He become sin on the cross so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
And I knew that there was one unforgivable sin, for I had already read Matthew12:31.
However, having read the Scriptures about blasphemy against the Holy Ghost in its context, I soon had a handle on the concept. The people to whom this was addressed were the Jews that had to make the transition from the Age of the Law to the Age of Grace. To help them make the transition, the Holy Spirit had gone to great lengths to confirm to Abraham's seed that Christ Jesus was truly their Messiah. It was to these Jews who had steadfastly resisted the Holy Spirit and accused Jesus of being empowered by the devil that Jesus was talking. Down through the years as a pastor and minister, I have often been called upon to counsel new converts who were being harassed by the devil who was tormenting them by insisting that they had blasphemed the Holy Ghost and, as a consequence, were forever lost. We would read together the Scripture in its context and I would point out that these who had truly blasphemed the Holy Ghost had hardened their hearts toward God and weren't in the least concerned that they were guilty of blasphemy. Then we would consider that someone whose heart was so soft towards God that they would be concerned that they might have thus offended His Holy Spirit was hardly a blasphemer. Then we would look at I Timothy 1:13 where Paul referred to himself before his conversion, saying that he had been a blasphemer, but had received mercy because he had done it in ignorance (I Timothy 1:13). This seemed to pull the devil's teethat least concerning this issue. But now, being called upon by my Lord to share my testimony with the lost, I had to think this thing through. If I knew someone was a homosexual, was I just wasting my time witnessing to them? I would be if God had given them up and He wouldn't honor my witness. For beginners, I knew that the Bible says that Jesus became sin for us; and that through Him, we can even be justified from things that those under the law could not be.
Also, I could find no where in the Bible where Jesus died for all sinexcept homosexuality. After giving the matter much thought, I felt that I had found my answer. Just as with those who could not be forgiven for blaspheming the Holy Ghost, the answer for those guilty of sodomy was also a matter of the heart. The key terms that came to me were actors and acted upon. In other words, those who willfully choose homosexuality--knowing full well the issue and the consequences--are in stubborn rebellion, having hardened their hearts against the Word of God. These are actors. However, those who are duped into the practice are acted upon; and they can still open to the Gospel if they have not hardened their hearts against God and His Word. There was a time when those who have been "acted upon" were mainly acted upon by another person; but since the move of most of the world governments away from the Word of God toward ungodliness, children are being acted upon by liberal mores in our societiesbeing taught that perversion is but alternative lifestyles. These teachings have permeated even the most modern of nations so that today's children are inundated with a tolerance and even a promotion of homosexuality in almost every area of their lives. They hear it from the news media, the entertainment world, politicians, the educational system, etc. These children are being acted upon, yet they are a part of a field that is "white already unto harvest." Which of these two categories you personally fit into, you will have to decide for yourself. The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. If you are able to still fear the consequences of your act, then perhaps you have been acted upon. The test is simple. The Bible says that God commands all men everywhere to repent and to believe on the name of His Only Begotten Son. It also says that whosoever thus calls upon the name of the Lord shall be "saved." (Scripturally, that word "saved" includes, among other things, the forgiveness of the sins of perversion and the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower one to live godly lives.) As to those in the rebellion of sodomy who support a church that has at its root the promotion of a sin that caused God to rain fire down on the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to their annihilation, I haven't prayed through all the factors.; But I can tell you up front--without any hesitation--it is a dangerous place in which to be. Remember, we named our web site DOWEKNOW because we aware that we are still searching. Check out the Scriptures we have given you; and if you can find any place where we are at fault, let us know. |
