RAZIA WROTE:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men."(Col.3: 23)

"JESUS IS COMING SOON"

Brothers/Sisters & Family, (Peace to you)

Thanks for your prayers & encouragements. Our ministry teams goes there to see and try to solve entire the matter in Dijkot. Our police was not agreed to register it. But one of our MPA (Member of Parliament Assembly) helps our people to register this case in police record.

The Muslims also stand one of their MPA and request our people to forgive them and they promise us that they will not do any thing against Christians in future.

Bible Says: Gen. 50:17; Luke 17:3-4; Luke 6:27; Matt. 18:21-22; Eph. 4:32; Luke 23:34; Matt. 6:12; Matt. 6:14; Acts 7:59- 60

So this way our Christian are agree to forgive them, because our religion is also tell us to forgive them. Muslims also pay money for the treatment of injured persons. This is all due to your faithfull prayers that this matter is solved in easy way.

We are praying for you and your family. Please you also remember us in your prayers and don't forget to write us again.

Thanks and God bless you all.

RAZIA WROTE AGAIN:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men."(Col.3: 23)

"JESUS IS COMING SOON"

Brothers/Sisters & Family, (Peace to you)

Thanks for your prayers & encouragements. Persecution on Christian is not a new thing as it begin centuries before, but God delivered His people from the cruel acts of non-believer and strengthen their faith. He is same today and yesterday, he heard the prayers of His people while peter was in prison and delivers him. We believe he listen the prayers of His saints and deliver His people form prison to glorify His name.

As you know that Pakistan is an Islamic State and called capital of Islam. There are so many Islamic militant groups who are so strong that our military government and American government are unable to crush them. They are so organized and strong that it’s not a big job for them to chase and harm those people who helped the victims, because they can accomplish their evil plans against such people easily.

Helping such people who are persecuted is not a new thing but it is a tough job. It was a very very important decision for me and my fiance that should we help those people who are persecuted due to their Christian faith. We will get reward from God for this but there are so many dangers, which we have to face while we confront those radical Muslim within the court and out side of court. While within the court government can protect us but out side of court only God can protect us as threating and kidnaping is very common in Pakistan. Especially they think that person who is helping the victim is their archrival. But we have jumped in this battle to help and deliver those people who are facing the brutal act because of His name.

It is fact that it is impossible to provide shelter and food to victims and their families and fight for them in court without the
financial assistance of our committed and beloved friends. But along with it we need your moral and prayer support greatly for the safety of those who go after the victim to provide legal and other assistance. As they have to face lot of risk and challenges to face those Islamic militant. We are confined in God that through the prayers of our faithful brothers and sisters we will accomplish our objectives in this new field to glorify His name in this country.

We think it is mandatory as a true Christian to remember those people on Christmas celebration who are behind the bars and who became victim of last year attack on Christians organizations and many women's became widows and many children became orphan. They were the only earning source of there poor families.

Now there wives and children going to celebrate Christmas without the head of there family. We want to enable them to join with other people in the celebration of Christ Mass. It won't compensate the lacking of their family member but it will hearten them.

We are praying for you and your family. Please you also remember us in your prayers and don't forget to write us again.

Thanks and God bless you all.

DON WROTE:

Since we were led of the Lord to put Razia's web page up on our site, we have observed that within her web site and in all of her correspondence with us that Razia is not promoting herself, nor some denomination/man-made organization.  Rather, we have noticed that she is always trying to bring people face-to-face with the Lord Jesus.  In addition, we are satisfied that when people come face to face with Razia, that they do not see her as a  "professional" church worker, but someone who has been touched by the Love of God, and someone who wants to share that love with others.

We trust that you will seek the mind of the Lord concerning Razia's needs as well as the needs of all missionaries who are faithfully answering their call and doing their part to fulfill the Great Commission.

Luke 14:
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Mark 16:
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Many who have wanted to answer this call, but could not go personally, have been led of the Lord to help others who were already on the mission fields.  As is the case with many nations that have been in spiritual darkness, Pakistan has not only been in spiritual darkness, but it has also known abject poverty.  Church, we all have needs!  The needs around Razia are obvious.  The ministry to which she is called requires help if she is to fulfill those needs.  And just as importantly, those of us who live in affluent societies have needs.  We need to learn to "give" in the Lord.  I'm satisfied that Jesus wasn't just making talk when He said that it is more blessed to give than to receive.  Please seek the mind of the Lord for you in this matter and be faithful in what He gives you to do.  I'm satisfied that Christ Jesus wants all believers to give SOMETHING to SOMEONE--be it time, money, a heart-felt prayer, a tear, or just a friendly word and a smile.  Let me sum this up with a little poem taught to children in Sunday School:

JUST ONE LIFE
WILL SOON BE PAST
ONLY THOSE THINGS DONE
IN CHRIST WILL LAST!

May the Lord make us ALL to be giving--and forgiving--sons and daughters of God.

Maranatha,

Don

To Our Cyber-Visitors:

This WRAP AROUND is a continuation of a discourse that can be found in our March 2003 and December 2003 WRAP AROUNDS.  It might make more sense to you if you were to check out the previous WRAPs.  Because for us,  Karsten's WRAP is confusing, and hard to follow--and lengthy; We've chosen to put our responses up first.  Hopefully, after reading our comments, his will be easier to follow.

Don Wrote:

Dear Karsten,

As I read your WRAP AROUND, which vacillates from law to grace to law to grace,  it seems to me that you are in one of two positions: either you are the Lord's and you've fallen back under the beggarly elements of the law, or you need to put yourself at the mercy of Christ (which. in truth, is where everyone is) and truly receive Him as your Savior. In other words, I would think that you need to quit trying to save yourself and accept the gift of God which was purchased in full for you by Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary.

Now, please understand that what I am about to say is not calculated to talk you into my way of believing; for I am convinced that if a man can talk one into believing something, another man can talk him out of it. Therefore, it is our desire to bring all who visit our site "face to face" with Christ Jesus so that they can say like the Apostle Paul: ...I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day (II Tim. 1:12b).  However, God made men creatures of thought and He wants each of us  to think for ourselves.  In fact, He wants us to reason with Him:

Isaiah 1
18   Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

THE BELIEVER AND LOGIC

However, as with every good thing that God has given man, the devil has no choice but to try to corrupt our ability to reason; and one of his favorite ploys is to try to use logic to come against God's grace.  "But what if..." he begins his arguments against the goodness and grace of God--and he surely has a bag full of faulty logic to use against any who will listen.  But since the devil can use logic in his attempts to undermine our faith, would you permit me to use a little logic in its favor.

SHARING AN EXPERIENCE

One day a student came to me with some questions that showed he was having troublesome thoughts about the "saved and lost" doctrines that are always flying around.  On my desk was a new calculator that the boy had been eyeing somewhat covetously. I answered him with a question: "Would you like to have this calculator?

"Yes," he replied.

"Okay, take it.  It's yours. It's a gift from me." I said.

He picked the calculator up and as he turned to walk back to his desk, I said: "By the way, if you want to keep that calculator, you'll have to pay me ten dollars a month for the rest of your life."

He turned and said in exasperation, "Why, that's no gift!"

"Exactly," I said, "and neither would God's gift of eternal life be a gift if you or I have to do anything to keep it."

THE FAULTY LOGIC OF DO'S AND DON'T'S

Looks like you're trying to set for yourself a list of "do's and don't's" that you need to keep so that you might "earn" eternal life.  But this presents a problem, for such a list is not presented in the Bible.  And even if you could pull some "do's and don't's" from the commands given to those who were under the law of Moses and make yourself a list to live by, how can you know if you've fully satisfied their demands.  You speak as though you were trying to achieve "purity."  This was one of the errors of the religious leaders who put the world into spiritual darkness during the "Dark Ages."  Christ did not come to make the fallen nature of man pure--or even "better"!  He came to make us to be new creatures in Christ Jesus, creatures who want to live as Christ lived, and creatures who would have the Holy Spirit to help in that endeavor.  However, the Bible and experience teaches that none could ever achieve that purity except Christ Himself.  Nonetheless, it is the desire of the born-again believer to always strive to walk in the same love that Christ did--even though we all will fall short at times due to our own particular experiences and habits we established before surrendering our lives to Christ.  Surely all born-again believers must agree that when the Spirit came into our lives to take residence in our bodies, He did not kick out the old man.  Perhaps, this is so that we can grow in grace to maturity as we see the errors of the old man and overcome its lasciviousness from victory to victory.  And perhaps it is so that we will not grow into someone who is "better than thou," but into someone who has understanding and compassion for those who have not yet made Christ their Lord and Savior and who are still driven by the old man's evil lusts.  BUT FOR SURE, THE BIBLE DOES NOT TEACH THAT THE OLD MAN IS LEFT IN OUR MEMBERS SO THAT WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO RESIST HIM SO THAT WE MIGHT EARN ETERNAL LIFE.

Again, I am not putting this WRAP up to win an argument; for it is not our goal to convince anyone that we are right about anything!  It is our purpose to share with others that Christ lives, that He lives in us and leads us daily--as much as we will allow, and that He wants to do the same for anyone who wants to walk with Him.  But we want to also point out that to walk in Christ Jesus is not to walk in torment and doubt but in joy and peace: a joy that is "unspeakable and full of glory" and a peace that  "is not of this world" and a peace that "passeth understanding."  Such peace and joy cannot be the lot of those who follow the devil's logic.

B'Ann Wrote:

It would seem to me that your philosophy would let you be "very proud of yourself"  one day and "feeling the despair of failure" the next. The Bible says that Christ is the "author and finisher" of our faith.  Now, if we try to write another man's book; then, we are either guilty of plagiarism or a privileged ghost writer.   However, in Revelation we are warned not to add or take away from the Scriptures.  Evidently you have assigned yourself the task of daily keeping the 10 Commandments, but these were never given for salvation.  They were given as rules for God's Theocratic government on earth.  So, what rules do you follow? (Cf.  Romans 8:1-4)  If it is the commandments of the law, then you are a debtor to keep every one of them (James 2:10; Gal. 3:10).  Not only is that impossible, but to try would be utterly exhausting. If you are never sure of your relationship with Christ, and can only hope to attain eternal life when you die, then there has to be a strong element of "doubt or fear." I think I will just claim these Scriptures.

I John 4
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Eph 2:8-10
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Karsten Wrote:

Dear Don,

Thank you for your comment in wrap around. I probably should have said, “our goal was to keep the promise of the kingdom and everlasting life, by being good Christians and following The Way.” (Mt. 21:43) The kingdom is promised as James 2:5 says.

Neither do I feel that I know all truth. I am always seeking the truth by reading God’s word in the Bible, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Your comment has made me look into it further.

This is what seems clear to me now.

The promise of entering the kingdom and having everlasting life surely is a gift! It is a sure thing because God the Father and His Son keep their promises. They are so sure, that they can talk about the future as if it is the present. The kingdom of God is a promised inheritance. (Mt. 25:34)(Ro. 8:14-15)

The Holy Spirit is given as earnest, an advance, for the receiving of that promise. (II Cor. 1:22 - 5:5, & Eph.1:14. Earnest in Strong’s is #827. We can break that covenant, and forgo the gift, if we do not continue in God’s Way. That is why we are admonished in Eph. 4:30 to not grieve the Holy Spirit. Eph. 4:22-32, tells us what we do that would grieve the Holy Spirit. In Mt.12:31 & Luke 12:10 Jesus says, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. . . .neither in this world or the world to come.”

Eph. 4:30 says that the Holy Spirit seals one for the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit does not put any person in the kingdom. It guides them on the right path to the kingdom. The knowledge of that promise is a calling that we must make sure. ( II Pe. 1:11)

Gal. 5:16 says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” :24 “Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Col. 3:12-14 tells the elect of God holy and beloved, to put on “tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another. . .even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put of love, which is the bond of perfection.”

Also in Ro. 8:7 it says, “The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.”

Some feel that they are “good” people, but one must realize that basically our human minds are enmity to God.
Therefore it is a constant fight for purity. Paul was much aware of this as he spoke in Ro. 7:14-25. The Holy Spirit, the power of God, in us, can help us overcome the carnal mind. Putting on the armor of God (Eph. 6:13), we must be soldiers fighting the carnal mind, which is evil. This is true repentance!

One must persevere, overcome, to the end, as is the message to the seven churches of Revelation. Revelation 21:14-15 also says, “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” (Sinners)

In other words, after repentance, and baptism, you receive the Holy Spirit, and become a “new” person. There is a new spirit in them that enables them to discern the things of the Spirit. (I Cor. 2:14) These new persons are still human and in THIS world, not in the kingdom of God, which is now in heaven. It says in John 3:13 that “no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven.”

That new person has the Spirit of God in him. By this phenomenon the Spirit will help that person to keep God’s commandments. Even so being human they may slip. Then when repentant, Christ’s sacrifice will cleanse them. They will then remain eligible to receive the promises of entering the kingdom of God and having everlasting life. The Holy Spirit does not put you into the kingdom; it is a helper/comforter to get you there. (John 14:16 & 26)

The gift of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice to cover sin is very much needed, because all sin. If they say they do not sin they are liars. (I John 1:10) Therefore, we must enter the kingdom through Jesus Christ, the door, whose sacrifice cleanses us from sin. By going thru that door we will become without sin, and worthy to enter the kingdom. In due time, He will change His cleansed people to spirit beings, and then they will be called to meet Him in the clouds to enter the kingdom in heaven.

To ascend to heaven, and be in the kingdom, one must literally be changed to a spirit being. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Having the Spirit in us is not being born of it. This will happen eventually. See my web page: http://webpages.charter.net/Scripture-Prophecy-Hope

Jesus will give this promise to all when He returns to earth. Rev. 22:12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” At His return all will know the truth. All will have the opportunity to enter the kingdom of God and have eternal life, IF they will obey God, accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and do good works.  Then they will be judged.

Concerning John 3, being born again enables you to, see the kingdom of God. You then have the vision to look
forward to it. Like the wind the Holy Spirit is not seen, but it can be perceived because it produces fruits. (Gal. 5:22)
Concerning where John 3:15 says, “have eternal life”. There are many so-called “born again” Christians who have received the Holy Spirit that still die; they do not have eternal life yet. The meaning here is shall have eternal life. It is a sure promise, so sure that God can speak of it as if it already happened.

II Tim.1:12b “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” ‘ That day’ is in the future.

Rom. 6:22 says, “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the END everlasting life.”

Produce fruits of the Holy Spirit, toward an end reward of everlasting life.

Eph. 2:8-10 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of god: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

What good works? With the help of the Holy Spirit; not sinning, obeying every word of God, keeping oneself not of this world although in it, producing the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and preaching the Gospel of the coming kingdom of God. I am sure you are familiar with the scriptures concerning this. (See Luke 8:15)

:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

What is sin? I John 3:4 says, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

This is a hard saying. Many fail to keep the commandments of God, in particular the one that says, “ Keep holy the Sabbath day”. The Sabbath is a sign between the LORD and his people. (Ex. 31:12-17) He assigned the seventh day as the Sabbath. (Gen. 2:1-3) Therefore, as mentioned before, we are not yet in the kingdom where no sinner can enter. We need Jesus Christ, our redeemer, the Holy Spirit in us and, the will to DO all that God commands.

Jesus told us to pray “Thy Kingdom come”. If it were here, we would not have to ask for it to come. It was not even here when He was here. (Mk. 14:25, 15:43) He came to pronounce the gospel, the Good News of its coming. (In Mt. 4:23, 11:5 and many other places.)

Some scriptures that seem to say that kingdom of God is here are:

Luke 17:21. This passage says the kingdom within you. “Within you” is translated elsewhere as, “ among you”. Jesus surely represented the kingdom of God. We are ambassadors of the kingdom, but we are not in it yet. The passage goes on to say that the kingdom will come when Christ returns.

Col. 1:12 might make one think that the kingdom is now, but it says to make us ready for the kingdom, not in it.

I Thes. 2:12 says called to the kingdom not in it.

Heb. 12:28 says, the kingdom of God cannot be moved. There is no such kingdom now, not even in us.

Rev. 1:9 says John is in the kingdom, but this is a vision.

Places where it says the kingdom is to come are Luke 22:30, John 18:36, and II Tim. 4:1. Rev. 12:10 says the kingdom of God is prophesied to come.

Karsten Wrote Again:

Question-Comment: I have read some more of your wrap arounds. They are interesting. About mine. We were talking about the kingdom being here. I do not feel that God's kingdom is here.

It will not be here until Christ returns. We do now have the promise to enter that kingdom, and the Holy Spirt to help us be prepared for it, dressed as a bride. There are requirements for entering that kingdom.

I assume that you believe, "once saved, always saved" no matter what else you do! I feel that you must also do something, not to be saved, but to show your love and appreciation by obeying our Heavenly Father, because He is so loving as to offer this gift. One must give thanks, and use the gift to advantage. He gives this promise to all, however they must accept it graciously.

Really, I think we are mostly agreed, we just seem to miss each other in communicating. I
agree that exclusivism is not God's way. Ro. 2:11 says, "For there is no respect of persons with God." He looks at the heart.

Don Wrote Again:

You are talking about the kingdoms in the Bible, but I am talking about the salvation of a soul.  One might glean an understanding of a Biblical term or topic from the the writings of another, yet not know Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  This is my concern.  If you will go to our on-line book The Clock of the Ages you will find our understanding of the kingdoms spoken of in the Bible; but to grasp my understanding is not the same as laying hold of the eternal life that is found in the Lord Jesus.

As to our ascribing to the "once saved, always saved" dogma, you have assumed incorrectly.  The terms "saved and lost" and "once saved, always saved" are not Biblical concepts.  There were invented by people who have nothing better to do with their life than to argue religion.  If you really want to know how we feel about these two terms, go to our on-line book Mark Them

Also, as to our being "mostly agreed," again, I am not so sure.  It is true that God looks upon the heart; but when He looks upon the heart of man, He is looking for those who have the trust of a little child (Mt. 18:3).  I know of no little child who is raised in a "normal" family situation that lives in fear that his dad might throw him away.  There can be no peace in the heart of a little child who thinks such thoughts.

I know that it is normal to want to "be in control."  That is a trait of our fallen nature: though one that is often frustrated by circumstances and the "control" of others.  The "law" appeals to this trait.  But when we are dealing with the God who created us, we should keep in mind that HE is the one who is in control.  Tomorrow is not even ours, except as God decides to give it to us.

James 4:
13
Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14   Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15   For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

In fact, we are not even guaranteed the next heart beat--even that belongs to God.  True, we are to do the best that we can with each day that God gives us; but like eternal life, each day is a gift.  The strongest man, the smartest man, or the richest man can not live one day more than he is allotted.

If you have not accepted God's gift of eternal life--purchased at the Cross for you by His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ--then do yourself a favor and stop frustrating the love of God.

Gal. 2:
16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17   But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
18   For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19   For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20   I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21   I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

On the other hand, if you have truly received God's gift of eternal life, then why not stop frustrating yourself and those in your circle of influence and enter fully into that gift and then share it with others.

B'Ann Wrote Again:

I think I'm seeing terminology problems.  We love Christ because He is our brother; because He died for us; because He promised never to leave us or forsake us.  We don't serve Him out of "gratitude" but because it is our "new nature" to do so.  Gratitude is such a meager word.

How can I give examples?  I'll  go another route.  Animals have "empathy," we have "sympathy," but the Church is to have "compassion."  Sadly, it would seem that today's church has virtually no understanding of "compassion" for if it did it would be "moved with compassion" and do great things in His Name.

Matthew 14
14   And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 18
27   Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

Mark 1
41   And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Mark 6
34   And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Also, if we feel that we have to make sacrifices to God, we need to ask ourselves just what sacrifices might we make that would cause God to love us more than He did when He gave His Only Begotten Son.

Let's look at a couple of the most widely known sacrifices imposed by the churches and let the Scriptures address them.  For example, let's consider the Catholic Church's centuries of "celibate sacrificing" which was supposedly installed by Peter (also known as Cephas)--which never was Scriptural.  What miseries they have added to their journey to heaven

I Corinthians 9
1   Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
2   If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
3   Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
4   Have we not power to eat and to drink?
5   Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Or take the Seventh Day Adventist and their vow not to eat meat; also, the Catholic fallacy of celibacy is addressed by this verse.

I Tim. 4:3
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

What am I saying?  We need to relax and let the love of Christ flow through us like a river.  We cannot control the flow of a river.  If we try, we can only cause a dam which restricts the natural ebbing.  Perhaps the things that we feel we "have" to do for God are really a self-sacrificing dam. Do you get my drift?  How can we show that we are truly grateful to God??? By accepting His Gift of His Son on the Cross and then learning to share this gift in a meaningful and natural way.  Again let me add:

Galatians 2
20   I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21   I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
