R________ Wrote: Dear Brother Don: I am the last of my family; Mom, Dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents--all gone. How I wish Jesus would come TODAY! Like it says in 1st Thessalonians 4:17. Truly this world is ripe for the wrath and judgment of God. In the United States of America, unborn babies are killed by abortionists, and then their tiny bodies cut up for their organs and parts like stolen cars in a chop shop. In Red China the depravity descends even lower: in at least one province of China, the abortionists actually eat them for snacks! (see http://www.gulf1.com/chuck/0310.htm for further details!). How much longer will God withhold His hand? I miss my family so; I wish God would sound The Last Trump so we can rise to meet them in the air, and be with the Lord forever. I don't have any crowns to toss at His feet (I hope He would be satisfied with a beat-up old cowboy hat or baseball cap!) but at least and last we'd be out of this sin-wrecked world where booze-soaked wet-brains can't think of any other way to protest the New World Order other than by burning the American flag on the 4th of July and various 'elites' who scorn God's Word and reject His Way can try and run things (right into Hell) all by themselves. I get real lonely sometimes, and I find myself missing my family. I'm not married, and at this stage of my life, not likely to, either. I miss my pets that have died, too. I do hope God has a place for my old dog Dino, my cats Nip, Tuck, Siamese Sam, Old Tuck and other furbabies now gone. I pray that today/tonight will be when the Last Trump sounds. God bless and keep you. sincerely, Marc R_______ Don Love Wrote: Hello Marc, Thanks for taking the time to WRAP with us and for sharing your feelings with us and our fellow cybernauts. We have been and will continue to pray that God will have His way with your life. Love, Don To our fellow cybernauts let me explain that Marc has done a lot of web surfing and has come up with some interesting sites that he has shared with us. We won't share all of them because there are so many but we will share a couple of goodies in the next two WRAP's and make comments on them. |
(This is one of Marc's WRAP's) The Problem Science Has With Jesus Christ "Let me explain the problem science has with Jesus Christ." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand. "You're a Christian, aren't you, son?" "Yes, sir." "So you believe in God?" "Absolutely." "Is God good?" "Sure! God's good." "Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?" "Yes." "Are you good or evil?" "The Bible says I'm evil." The professor grins knowingly. "Ahh! THE BIBLE!" He considers for a moment. "Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help them? "Would you try?" "Yes sir, I would." "So you're good...!" "I wouldn't say that." "Why not say that? You would help a sick and maimed person if you could... in fact most of us would if we could...God doesn't." No answer. "He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Hmmm? Can you answer that one?" No answer. The elderly man is sympathetic. "No, you can't, can you?" He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax. In philosophy, you have to go easy with the new ones. "Let's start again young fella. Is God good?" "Er... Yes." "Is Satan good?" "No." "Where does Satan come from?" The student falters. "From... God..." "That's right. God made Satan, didn't he?" The elderly man runs his bony fingers through his thinning hair and turns to the smirking, student audience. "I think we're going to have a lot of fun this semester, ladies and gentlemen." He turns back to the Christian. "Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?" "Yes, sir." "Evil's everywhere, isn't it? Did God make everything?" "Yes." "Who created evil?" No answer. "Is there sickness in this world? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All the terrible things - do they exist in this world?" The student squirms on his feet. "Yes." "Who created them? " No answer. The professor suddenly shouts at his student. "WHO CREATED THEM? TELL ME, PLEASE!" The professor closes in for the kill and climbs into the Christian's face. In a still small voice: "God created all evil, didn't He, son?" No answer. The student tries to hold the steady, experienced gaze and fails. Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace the front of the classroom like an aging panther. The class is mesmerized. "Tell me," he continues, "How is it that this God is good if He created all evil throughout all time?" The professor swishes his arms around to encompass the wickedness of the world. "All the hatred, the brutality, all the pain, all the torture, all the death and ugliness and all the suffering created by this good God is all over the world, isn't it, young man?" No answer. "Don't you see it all over the place? Huh? Don't you?" The professor leans into the student's face again and whispers, "Is God good?" No answer. "Do you believe in Jesus Christ, son?" The student's voice betrays him and cracks. "Yes, professor. I do." The old man shakes his head sadly. "Science says you have five senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you seen Jesus?" "No, sir. I've never seen Him." "Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?" "No, sir. I have not." "Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelt your Jesus... in fact, do you have any sensory perception of your God whatsoever?" No answer. "Answer me, please." "No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't." "You're AFRAID... you haven't ?" "No, sir." "Yet you still believe in him?" "...yes..." "That takes FAITH!" The professor smiles sagely at the underling. "According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son? Where is your God now?" The student doesn't answer. "Sit down, please." The Christian sits...Defeated. Another Christian raises his hand. "Professor, may I address the class?" The professor turns and smiles. "Ah, another Christian in the vanguard! Come, come, young man. Speak some proper wisdom to the gathering." The Christian looks around the room. "Some interesting points you are making, sir. Now I've got a question for you. Is there such thing as heat?" "Yes," the professor replies. "There's heat." "Is there such a thing as cold?" "Yes, son, there's cold too." "No, sir, there isn't." The professor's grin freezes. The room suddenly goes very cold. The second Christian continues. "You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat but we don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold, otherwise we would be able to go colder than 458. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it." Silence. A pin drops somewhere in the classroom. "Is there such a thing as darkness, professor?" "That's a dumb question, son. What is night if it isn't darkness? What are you getting at...?" "So you say there is such a thing as darkness?" "Yes..." "You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something, it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, Darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker and give me a jar of it. Can you...give me a jar of darker darkness, professor?" Despite himself, the professor smiles at the young effrontery before him. This will indeed be a good semester. "Would you mind telling us what your point is, young man?" "Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start with and so your conclusion must be in error...." The professor goes toxic. "Flawed...? How dare you...!" "Sir, may I explain what I mean?" The class is all ears. "Explain... oh, explain..." The professor makes an admirable effort to regain control. Suddenly he is affability itself. He waves his hand to silence the class, for the student to continue. "You are working on the premise of duality," the Christian explains. "That for example there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science cannot even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism but has never seen, much less fully understood them. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, merely the absence of it." The young man holds up a newspaper he takes from the desk of a neighbor who has been reading it. "Here is one of the most disgusting tabloids this country hosts, professor. Is there such a thing as immorality?" "Of course there is, now look..." "Wrong again, sir. You see, immorality is merely the absence of morality. Is there such a thing as injustice? No. Injustice is the absence of justice. Is there such a thing as evil?" The Christian pauses. "Isn't evil the absence of good?" The professor's face has turned an alarming color. He is so angry he is temporarily speechless. The Christian continues. "If there is evil in the world, professor, and we all agree there is, then God, if he exists, must be accomplishing a work through the agency of evil. What is that work, God is accomplishing? The Bible tells us it is to see if each one of us will, of our own free will, choose good over evil." The professor bridles. "As a philosophical scientist, I don't view this matter as having anything to do with any choice; as a realist, I absolutely do not recognize the concept of God or any other theological factor as being part of the world equation because God is not observable." "I would have thought that the absence of God's moral code in this world is probably one of the most observable phenomena going," the Christian replies. "Newspapers make billions of dollars reporting it every week! Tell me, professor, Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?" "If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do." "Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?" The professor makes a sucking sound with his teeth and gives his student a silent, stony stare. "Professor. Since no-one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a priest?" "I'll overlook your impudence in the light of our philosophical discussion. Now, have you quite finished?" the professor hisses. "So you don't accept God's moral code to do what is righteous?" "I believe in what is - that's science!" "Ah! SCIENCE!" the student's face splits into a grin. "Sir, you rightly state that science is the study of observed phenomena. Science too is a premise which is flawed..." "SCIENCE IS FLAWED..?" the professor splutters. The class is in uproar. The Christian remains standing until the commotion has subsided. "To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, may I give you an example of what I mean?" The professor wisely keeps silent. The Christian looks around the room. "Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?" The class breaks out in laughter. The Christian points towards his elderly, crumbling tutor. "Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain... felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain?" No one appears to have done so. The Christian shakes his head sadly. "It appears no-one here has had any sensory perception of the professor's brain whatsoever. Well, according to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says the professor has no brain." The class is in chaos. The Christian sits...Because that is what a chair is for.
DON LOVE WROTE: Hey Marc, Thanks again for taking the time to Wrap with us. I find this to be an interesting WRAP. Obviously, the second student blew away the professors logic. However, I find flaw with this part of the second students logic.
More than likely, as I explain why I disagree with this statement, you will probably find fault with my logic. This is because we are trying to understand the mind of God--and the Bible tells us that this is impossible for man, that God's thoughts are as far above ours as the heavens are above the earth.
However, God did give us a mind, and He expects us to use it. In fact, He command us to come and to reason with Him.
I guess that this is were I disagree with the logic of the second student: "...The Bible tells us it is to see if each one of us will, of our own free will, choose good over evil." This statements smirks of the law and we are not made perfect by the law and the works of the flesh but by faith in the Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. As I read the Scriptures, I find that the evil in the world--and indeed, the evil in our own members--is to bring us to repentance and to faith in Christ. I personally desire to do good and to help my fellow man and to please God, but this is not of myself nor of any born-again Christian--this is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the born-again believer. What I'm trying to say is, I'm glad that God does not tell us to rely upon the logic that He has given us, but to let that logic bring us to His mercy which is found in Christ and Him alone. The following is one of my favorite verses of Scripture.

| (This is another of Marc's WRAP's.)Only Changed Hearts can Change America
March 17, 2000
I'm not a pessimist by nature. I realize that every
generation tends to believe that their problems are the worst ones faced by any
generation. It is easy to have a jaded view of the present.
That being said, I feel it is incumbent upon people (especially free people) to properly analyze the conditions and course of the present in order to provide leadership and guidance for the future. I must confess that a careful study of history (and the scriptures) leads me to some very distasteful conclusions. Conclusion Number One I believe America is on the wrong course. I am convinced we are headed on a collision course with history! Every great empire of the past fell at the zenith of their power. Until their fall, their economies and militaries were considered to be the greatest in the world. While boasting great prosperity and power, however, they became engulfed in lethargy and licentiousness. Depravity and corruption ate the soul out of those nations as surely as worms will eat the core out of an apple. This is currently happening to America. Conclusion Number Two Neither political party nor the majority of the American populace is willing to change the country's fatal course. To do so would require a dramatic change in philosophy. Currently, the majority of Americans (and the representatives they have elected) demonstrates an extreme reluctance to do this. There are more similarities than differences between the two parties. Both are consumed with the lust for power and greed. Neither is willing to be chained by the restraints of the Constitution. Neither is willing to stand against the onslaught of media scorn or the tide of public opinion. As such, we have a classic example of the blind leading the blind. The ditch will claim them both. Conclusion Three A willful rejection of truth permeates the land. Those who speak the truth are regarded as thickheaded troublemakers. They receive neither praise nor position. The American people have traded the great themes of freedom (and those who proclaim them) for a mess of government pottage. The fundamental principles of America's founding documents are as popular as a case of the chicken pox. There is no truth so great that it cannot be ignored or any virtue so noble that it cannot be abolished. People who are anticipating that a change in the White House will set America's ship of state aright have a rude awakening coming! Without a change of heart, there will be no change of course. B"Ann Wrote: What are we about as Christians? Christ said that the physical government would never return to Him until He sits on the Throne of David. This will eventually be an actual event, out of man's control, a supernatural event if you please. Meanwhile, our job as Christians is to "go ye into all the world". We cannot "go ye" if we are caught up in the cares of the world, i.e., causes. Our cause is to tell them about Jesus and the simple message of John 3:16. Will this message change lives? Jesus said it would. Millions of people have testified that it does. We study "cause and effect" in school. Christians are supposed to be proactive, not reactive. We are not supposed go into a situation after the "cause and effect" has run its course, This forces Jesus to function as a rehabilitation agency rather than a preventive one. We need to get back to the scripture that says:
This scripture refers to "family/human government" under a theocracy. This works in all other forms of government as well, such as our democracy. The 10 Commandments, which were given as the "preamble" to theocracy, were for man's relationship with God and man's relationship to other citizens in the nation. They are summed up as follows:
Our starting point with children is just simply this "government of theocracy" within their minds and hearts. Perhaps we could call these just plain "courtesy/ good manners /respect." The 10 Commandments were never given as a "salvation" plan. This was another matter dealing with the acceptance/rejection of the covenant God gave the people. Our covenant today is:
So, our starting point is a born again experience for all who believe; and this is possible only if those who have the "Light of the World" are willing to share Him with the world! If you are truly worried about the world, then, don't waste you time with "causes" but get back to the "way" prescribed by God and give the prescription recommended before the "cause and effect" sets in...John 3: 16 and the teachings of the Bible. Wrote: i just wanted to email you on how blessed i was by your website. I was especially blessed when i observed that part of your web page spoke about denominations and how it was not of god. this was especially a blessing since i am a member of a popular well known 24,000 member church that has broken away from its denomination in temple hills maryland and am standing boldly before the world and am preaching to other of the traditions of the church made by the bishops, etc. we are experiencing a lot of persecution of which our 2 sanctuaries are trying to be taken from us by the denomination as we were taken to court of which a judge who is a member of a religious sect that my pastor preaches about had prejudged and made a judgement to take all our assets, and church. we are standing on the promises of God because he is our sole provider. as a result of god telling my pastor to leave the denomination, there have been multitudes of churches around the world asking how to leave the denomination they are so in bondage to also there have been many that have left and are continuing to leave. keep spreading the news and keep us in prayer may god bless and continue to make you a blessing according to his riches and glory by christ jesus. ella B'Ann Wrote: When we see someone "messing up our nest" we assume that it is somebody bad. God never did tell us to "clan" together but we must always "disperse, disperse, disperse." Go ye into all the world means just that. Perhaps you became turned in upon yourselves and forgot what being a Christian is all about. We need a time to jump, howl, and rejoice but this should come only after the "harvest" is safely in. Everyone wants to come to a party and receive "refreshments/refreshing" but this usually comes in the natural world, after someone has "wooed and won" a bride, a person has lived another year (birthday), a business has reached its quota, or in remembrance of someone that has died for a cause, etc. Do you get my drift? The "joy of the Lord' is our strength but this does not come about by stirring up the motions or outward signs of the body. Take the matter of childbirth. The signs of the labor does not mean that a baby has been born into the world. Only after that baby is produced can we rejoice and hold it. In fact, the birth process is often anything but joy. The same with birthing Christians into the kingdom. The labor of love associated with witnessing is often tedious. Only after a person comes to the foot of the cross and is truly "born again" do we get to rejoicein fast, we're told that all heaven gets to rejoice with us. However, please note that all of this rejoicing takes place after the soul is born again.
I sincerely hope that as you become "broken apart" that you take your fervor and drive and continue to "disperse, disperse, disperse". Count it as all joy that you are driven to give this to others. |

Wrote: Have you ever heard of a finding of a St. Thomas gospel approx.1945 around the area of the Dead Sea Scrolls, supposedly not recognized by the Catholic church. B'Ann Wrote: We have had the Bible for many, many years and many have not read it or even heard of it. I don't want to "argue" over whether the Catholics or Protestants are right. While we waste time arguing and digging up the Dead Sea Scrolls, we could be sharing John 3: 16. We don't live a Christian life by logic, scientific theory, or scientific proof, but rather by faith. I have faith that if the Scrolls were dug up that it was for a definite purpose. Perhaps it was to help a denomination correct an erroneous doctrine. But actually, we don't need to dig up scrolls to do that. All we need is already in the Biblesuch as:
(Note that marriage of the clergy is definitely addressed in the following scriptures. [Peter]? ) We don't have time to "throw stones" for Christ did teach that whoever was perfect could cast the first stone. We need to entreat the Lord to send us to a receptive heart that will receive the truth of John 3: 16. How God decided to send His Son was His business. How we "send forth" His Son is our business. Is God big enough to correct the errors of any denomination whether it be Catholic or any other that have let the "doctrine of man" creep in? Yes, He is and He will go to any heart that diligently seeks the truth. |

Wrote: Thank you for the great web site!! Great information to study. Mary Don Wrote: Thanks for the good word. It is encouraging. Don |
NOTICE TO OUR FELLOW WEB SURFERS! We have had several E mails this past month wanting us to help support one cause or another. We have decided to answer all these E mails with this one response. We agree that it is an abomination that a homosexual group is making a movie depicting Jesus and His disciples as being a part of the "miserable" gay community--and it is unfortunate that the gay community is trying to make inroads into every aspect of our society . We also understand that many Third World Nations are undergoing atrocities. We also understand that unscrupulous individuals have been elected to public office and are using their positions for their own gain. And we've already addressed on our web site, under the guise of being "Pentecostal," strange spirits with strange activities have crept into the church. But all of this is predicted in the Scriptures and should not overly upset us. We should be aware, however, that all of these things are but symptoms of a sick society, and not the cause. Consequently, we need to be careful lest the enemy of our souls take our minds off of the real problem which has been the church's abandonment of the Great Commission. Nowhere in the Scriptures are we told to hire men and women to handle the Great Commission in our stead. In fact, it is the job of the minister to strengthen and encourage those in his charge to be about the business of letting our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven (See Mt. 5:16 ). It is the individuals in the Church (you and I) that are supposed to share their faith with the world. It is you and I that are charged to share our love for Christ with others--not a select few that we have commissioned and lifted up for the world to see. And contrary to what the devil would have us to believe, the great commission is not that hard to fulfill. If we study the Bible to show ourselves approved unto God and if we daily spend time in our prayer closets, then witnessing for Jesus will become a part of us. If we will simply put Christ first in our lives, He will put others on our hearts and make the way for us to make a difference in their lives. Our counsel is, if you want to get involved in a cause, let it be the cause of Christ. Begin in your homes, with your families, with your neighborhood. Then, if you feel the need, find a ministry that is reaching out to the world and affiliate yourself. Give the matter to Christ and trust the Holy Spirit to lead you. Who knows, He may lead you to start your own ministry. Remember, the Bible says "If my people [not the churches' hirelings], which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2Chr. 7:14). |
